Introduction of leader:
Laboratory of Cancer Genomics
Team leader: Miki Ohira, PhD (Chief)
Profile:

Miki Ohira graduated from Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the University of Tokyo in 1989, and received M.S. and Ph.D. degree from Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the University of Tokyo in 1991 and 1997, respectively. After getting M.S. degree, she had been in Kazusa DNA Research Institute as a research scientist, and then joined Chiba Cancer Center Research Institute in 1998 working on medical genomics as a staff researcher.
She was co-recipient of the Luca Lotti Award of the Advances in Neuroblastoma Research in 2004.
Her current research interests include genetics of neuroblastoma development and constructing a DNA chip based-diagnostic system of pediatric cancers.
Fields of specialty:

Comments/Future dream:
We have been working on the mechanism of tumorigenesis of pediatric cancers and trying to apply genomic and genetic profiles of multiple tumor samples to construct high quality tumor classification system. We welcome undergraduate and graduated students as well as post-docs who are interested in our work.
