Scientific research and society: Ties leading to the future

Japanese

In a series of social activities, Chiba Cancer Center Research Institute (CCCRI) holds the summer school, and attends to some social exhibitions and meetings with patients. The summer school has been held, since 1998, for students from junior high school to high school as a “satellite school for future scientists”. They experienced extraction of DNA, preliminary analytical examination and observation of cells with microscope (photo). In 2004, CCCRI attended to the exhibition for 10-year anniversary of Chiba Museum of Science and Industry (CMSI). The theme was "Biotechnology -technique for utilizing the mechanism of life-"

This institution also performs familial works for infants to students of high school, and this principle is consistent with the philosophy of CCCRI. In Chiba Cancer Center (CCC), "FUREAI HIROBA (Companion Square)" was founded in 1990, and various exhibitions have been held and publication of booklets has also been performed in collaboration with patients. Members gather across all the sections of CCC, including CCCRI.
